Study Information

The aim of this study is to understand how different individuals use public transport and how they experience disruption to their journey. There is a growing appreciation for the need for more sustainable means to travel – which can be partly fulfilled through an increased uptake of public transport. However, public transport can be viewed as unreliable and can cause disruptions to the journeys of passengers, moreover encumbered passengers (anyone who’s actions or movements are restricted or impeded) are particularly vulnerable to disruption. We are therefore interested in understanding the types of disruptions different individuals face and how this impacts them and the activities they wish to undertake. By understanding how individuals experience disruption we can start to address how to mitigate for these disruptive events using technological and autonomous systems. You will therefore be asked a series of questions relating to your public transport use and your experience when using public transport.
