Supporting student mental health training with Solent Mind

Many of us, through our roles at the University, are interacting with students who are struggling with one of many mental health conditions. In a 2022 survey by the mental health charity Student Minds, 57% of respondents self-reported a mental health issue, and 27% said they had a diagnosed mental health condition.

A pair of hands

We want to ensure that staff feel confident about how best to support their students and are aware of where to signpost them when needed. The University has teamed up with Solent Mind, Hampshire’s leading mental health charity, to provide student-facing staff with online training which is co-designed to help us support our students struggling with mental health issues.
