Take part in a driving simulator study in the new Virtual Reality Cave

Would you like to take part in a driving simulator study in the University of Southampton’s new Virtual Reality (VR) Cave?

Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, we are looking for drivers with a full and valid UK car driving licence to take part in a study that looks to investigate the factors drivers consider when driving in urban/neighbourhood roads.

What’s involved

The study has three parts. First, you will be asked to complete a short pre-study questionnaire. Once you have completed the pre-study questionnaire, you will then be trained to think aloud whilst driving in the simulator. After completing this training and a short practice drive, you will experience two scenarios in the VR Cave, each one lasting up to 15 minutes.

This study will take approximately 1hr of your time and you will receive £20 as compensation for taking part.

If you would like to take part in this study, please email Peter Youssef at [email protected].
