This ‘Introduction to Board of Examiners’ online workshop is being run by David Gammack, Associate Dean Education (FSS) and Jarunda Richardson, Admin and Assessment Team Leader (FSS). It will introduce the Boards of Examiners process for taught programmes including Special Considerations, Pre-boards, Boards of Examiners and Supplementary Boards and is suitable for those who are new to Exam Boards or who could use a refresher on how the various boards operate.
The Board of Examiners is the primary decision-making body for student progression, award and classification decisions. Attendees at Boards include Chair of the Board, Exams Officers, Programme Directors/Leads, Senior Tutors, and Professional Service Staff supporting the meeting.

By the end of this event, participants should be able to:
- Understand the sequence of events from one board to the next.
- Gain an overview of the membership of the different boards.
- Detail the remit of each board.
- Highlight the relevant regulations that outline the responsibilities and operation of each board.
