Celebrating Success: Vice-Chancellor's Awards 2024

You can find all you need to make a nomination, from the category descriptions to hints and tips, on our Vice-Chancellor’s Awards SharePoint page.

The nominations form will become available on Monday 8 April, and will remain open for three weeks. We know this is a busy time of year for many colleagues, so you might like to start drafting your nomination now in Microsoft Word. You have a 200-word text box to fill, so make your points short, sharp, and evidenced where possible.

Struggling to know what to write?

Take a look at our past Awards brochures to read previous nominations and get an idea of what the panel are looking for.

Think about how the individual or team enhances people’s work lives and/or the University and remember that exceptional day-to-day work can be just as important as higher profile achievements or projects.

What happens after I submit the nomination?

Nominations are tracked by the Reward & Recognition team in Human Resources and shortlisting documentation is provided to the VC Awards Panel.

Who will know that I’ve nominated someone?

Nominators have the right to remain anonymous, so only those mentioned above will know who you are, unless you want to tell your nominee!

Who will know that a person has been nominated?

We don’t publish a list of nominees unless your nomination is shortlisted. However, nominees are welcome to let others know you’ve been nominated. If you’d like to know who made your nomination, let us know and we’ll check your nominator is happy for us to share this information with you; some nominators wish to remain anonymous.

What if I pick the wrong award category?

The Reward & Recognition team may consider moving your nomination to another award category if there is a better fit.
