Where to study and take a break
Our Library sites have different opening hours during the spring break, with the National Oceanographic Library and Winchester School of Art Library closed from Friday 29 March to Wednesday 3 April (reopening on Thursday 4 April) and at the weekends. The study spaces in the Sir James Matthews Building and Building 100 will also be closed during that period and at the weekends, but open throughout the remainder of the break.
Hartley Library and the Health Services Library will be closed on Sunday 31 March (Easter Day), with altered opening hours during the rest of the Easter bank holidays and University closure period. Make sure to check the Library website before heading out for the exact opening times at your preferred site.
Many of our catering outlets remain open for you to take a break from Monday to Friday outside of the Easter closure period. These include The Arlott, Hartley Library Starbucks, Avenue Café, NOC Restaurant and Coffee Bar, WSA Café, and the Artisan. Check the University website for the exact opening times of our catering outlets. For the opening times of SUSU venues please head to the SUSU website.
Exam timetables
If you are planning ahead for your exams this spring, please note that your semester two generic assessment timetable will be available to view via your SUSSED account and the My Southampton app on Monday 22 April.
Academic support and resources
Don’t forget that the Academic Skills Service can provide support and resources for your academic needs, be it planning your dissertation, writing your assignments, understanding feedback, and much more. You can attend the popular Writing Café, Maths and Statistics, or Academic Skills drop-ins during the week, or get in touch with the expert team via their website.
Please note, the team will be unavailable between Thursday 28 March and Tuesday 9 April. Check out the full opening times and the resources available via the Academic Skills website.
Stay active
If you would like to use the Southampton Sport facilities during the spring break, Jubilee Sports Centre and Mayflower Gym will be closed on Sunday 31 March, with altered opening times between Friday 29 March and Wednesday 3 April.
Wide Lane and the Watersports Centre will be closed during this period, but open as usual from Thursday 4 April.

IT support
University IT support services will be closed for the Easter bank holidays and University closure days, from Friday 29 March until Wednesday 3 April, returning to usual opening times from Thursday 4 April. This includes ServiceLine phone lines and webchat, as well as the Tech Hubs in the Hartley Library and Sir James Matthews Building.
