Lifelab will be delivering their new CPD Certified course that provides best practice guidance on how to reach and engage with young people in schools, youth groups, community groups, or on an individual level. This course is being held in-person and is for any professional who is planning to collect data and interact with young people, including:

  • PhD students
  • early career researchers
  • healthcare professionals

Learning outcomes include understanding the do’s and don’ts of working with young people, understanding safeguarding and sensitive topics and how to build successful working relationships with teachers, schools and youth organisations.

The in-person course is being held at LifeLab’s HQ at University Hospital Southampton and is currently available for an introductory fee of just £95 for UoS members of staff and students.

Course Lead and Enterprise Fellow, Lisa Bagust, said:

“We are delighted to release this course with our colleagues from the Medical and Healthcare CPD Unit. This course is ideal for any professional who is planning to collect data and interact with young people, including PhD students, early career researchers or healthcare professionals. Connecting with young people from the outset is crucial to maximising the quality of data you collect for research projects. This course will cover how you can increase interaction, plan engagement activities and even pitch language appropriately.”

For more information on the course, or to book your place, visit the course webpage.

Spaces are limited, so book soon to avoid disappointment.
