Today, Monday 22 April, our community does not only celebrate World Earth Day, but it also marks the start of Green Week (22-26 April).
A collaboration between the Sustainability Community of Practice (SCoP) at the University of Southampton and the Southampton University Students’ Union, Green Week brings together a variety of lectures, sustainable initiatives, and activities to help you get involved with sustainability and make a positive contribution to our community and the environment. These include:
- Thought-provoking sessions led by sustainability experts and academics
- Crafting afternoons to help you come up with day-to-day sustainable solutions
- Vegan food giveaways
- A session updating you on the progress the University has made on its sustainability strategy and plans, including a free vegan lunch and refreshments.
- Second-hand clothes sale and a sustainable fashion show
- Society-led events such as wildlife walks, a nature escape room, and much more.
The events programme for this week can be found on the My Southampton app and the SUSU website.
