Staff Party 2024 – You’re invited

All staff and PGRs are invited to this year’s Staff Party on Wednesday 3 July, 14:00-17:00 on Highfield Campus.

You're invited - Staff Party 2024

The Staff Party is a special occasion at the end of the academic year; an opportunity to catch up with colleagues you may not have seen recently, and a great place to spend some time relaxing with those who you work with day to day, and celebrating what we achieve together.

Each year we explore opportunities for improvements to the Staff Party and are always grateful to those of you who provide feedback following each year’s party. We have carefully reviewed the responses to last year’s post-event survey, and will be changing the food service to ensure all colleagues are able to enjoy the refreshments this year.

The party will include:

  • Free hot food and a drink
  • A variety of competitive and non-competitive outdoor games and activities
  • Live music – more details to come
  • A variety of crafts including a collaborative community craft activity – more details to come
  • New for this year, a quiet craft area for those who would like a more peaceful environment
  • A chill out space

Booking your place:

This is an open event to all staff, but to help with catering, please register using your @soton.ac.uk email address to receive complimentary food and drink.

Craft supplies:

It is important to us that we are as sustainable as possible in all our activities; therefore to support the planned craft activities we invite you to consider donating the following items:

  • Empty, clean glass jars
  • Empty, clean, undented tin cans (baked bean cans/tinned tomatoes cans are ideal) with labels removed
  • Clean scrap fabric/old clothing that cannot be re-sold

If you are able to donate any of these items, please bring them to University Reception, Building 37, Highfield Campus.

For more information about the party please visit the Staff Party SharePoint site.
