In addition to the Technicians’ Conference 2024, the UoS Technician Commitment has coordinated a series of developmental sessions specifically designed for our technicians. These sessions will take place during June and July 2024.
These events are open to all technicians, including those on the TAE pathway and those in technical roles on other pathways. The sessions will cover a range of topics, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth and networking.
Technician’s Conference (In-person)

The Technician’s Conference is a must-attend event for all technicians. It’s a platform to celebrate excellence, recognise outstanding contributions through the Technician of the Year awards, and hear from key speakers, including Nikolay Ogryzko, Talent Programme Manager at UKRI. Join us to explore the People, Culture, Environment (PCE) assessment element of REF2029. We’ll delve into its impact on Technical and Experimental staff and the opportunities it provides.
The afternoon will be comprised of a series of workshops covering topics such as career progression,
grant funding, fellowship application support, and sustainability in labs.
Mastering Your Mindset: Emotional Resilience for Busy People (In-person)

Neurodivergence Acceptance training (In-person)
Date & Time : Thursday 27 June, 09:30-14:30 or Tuesday 16 July, 09:30-14:30
Location: Boldrewood campus
Facilitated by Autism Success Formula, in this half-day training we will explore autism and ADHD acceptance with a specialist work coach. The session will focus on understanding neurodivergence and the executive function, as well as providing practical insights for creating neuro-inclusive working and learning environments.
