Faculty of Social Sciences showcase for sustainability research

Academics and early career researchers are invited to an event which will showcase the expertise of social scientists in the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) and demonstrate how they might apply their skills to sustainability issues.

The event takes place on Friday 14 June 11:30-13:30 (lunch provided) in B100, Room 3023. You can register HERE and the registration deadline is Friday 7 June.

The Sustainability and Resilience Institute (SRI) and FSS, through the FSS Green and Sustainable Futures Network, have been working together to develop links around sustainability and to encourage interdisciplinarity. FSS academics’ research is applicable to all sorts of research, and the methods used have the potential to be transferable to many areas.

There will be a series of presentations showcasing the breadth of research methods and projects in FSS, and their applicability to other areas of study, with the aim of fostering new collaborations.

There will be time for networking and discussions over lunch, with the ambition to develop new partnerships to coalesce around our world leading expertise which will be on the front foot to bid for large research grants. These partnerships would also be well placed to bid for SRI’s 24/25 Seed Funding call.
