Staff Party – 3 July 2024 – get involved!

The Staff Party is a special occasion at the end of the academic year; an opportunity to catch up with colleagues you may not have seen recently, and a great place to spend some time relaxing with those who you work with day to day, and celebrating what we achieve together.  If you haven’t already, reserve your place to help us plan catering, which will be served differently this year.

You're invited - Staff Party 2024

Get involved

Our shout out scheme is back for 2024 and you can submit your messages of thanks on the Appreciation Shout Outs SharePoint page.

Crafts

To support the planned craft activities, please consider donating the following items:

  • Empty, clean glass jars – please remove lids and labels
  • Empty, clean, undented tin cans (baked bean cans/tinned tomatoes cans are ideal) – please remove lids and labels
  • Clean cotton or polycotton material such as shirts, duvet covers, pillow cases, tablecloths etc – these will be used to make bunting triangles so the plainer the better!

If you are able to donate any of these items, please bring them to University Reception, Building 37, Highfield Campus.

What to expect

The party will include:

  • Free hot food and a drink – this year there will be a selection of hot food options showcasing a range of global cuisines – please visit the Staff Party SharePoint site to view the menus.
  • A variety of competitive and non-competitive outdoor games and activities
  • Live music – more details will be added to the Staff Party SharePoint site in due course.
  • A variety of crafts including a collaborative community craft to make bunting to be displayed at future years’ parties
  • New for this year, a quiet craft area for those who would like a more peaceful environment.

Transport

  • On the day of the party Unilink buses are free to all staff. Show your Staff ID for free rides.
  • Parking restrictions will be lifted on Highfield, Boldrewood and Avenue campuses from 1pm on Wednesday 3 July to enable colleagues to travel to the Staff Party.  Please bear in mind that following the closure of Broadlands car park earlier this year, there has been a significant reduction in the number of available parking spaces on campus.  You should therefore plan your travel accordingly to allow plenty of time to find a space, and be aware that it is likely that all car parks will reach capacity and you may be unable to park.
  • We recommend that where possible, you travel by bus, bike or by walking, or consider car sharing with colleagues to reduce the number of cars parking on campus.

Reserve your place at the 2024 Staff Party.
