A pivotal method in helping individuals to develop and build more positive professional cultures is through the establishment of formal mentoring schemes. Research consistently indicates transformative benefits for mentees and mentors alike. The role of a good mentor is a very nuanced one and requires a great variety of skills and attributes. Moreover, a healthy mentoring scheme is a potentially powerful asset to help recruit and retain talent.
The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) are running two half-day workshops on Thursday 4 July that will help you to set up a mentoring scheme in a way that is powerful and sustainable. Using a coaching approach, you will be provided with materials and proformas, as well as a mentoring handbook, to help you design a scheme that is right for your group, department or organisation. Lunch will be provided for both sessions.
