Summer Festival at Turner Sims is back! Extraordinary artists from both near and far are ready to fill the venue and surrounding gardens with incredible live music from Friday 28 – Sunday 30 June.
Our younger audiences will love our Summer Family Day on Sunday 30 June. Get involved with events, workshops, and craft indoors and outdoors – and don’t forget to get your face painted!
The main auditorium boasts music from singer-songwriter Lucy Kitchen, and brilliant Turn It Up local associate, Indie-Folk duo Pegasuses on Friday. Catch a Vibe Lounge in the foyer first with Jazz rapper Baby Panna.
Head to the Courtyard Stage on Saturday for bands from Southampton and beyond, including Emily May, Interesting Wallpaper, Violet Road, and the wonderful Chateau Bateau! The main auditorium sees a lunchtime performance from jazz ensemble Frontline with British Neo-Jazz singer-songwriter Ni Maxine. The brilliant Penguin Café take the stage in the evening with avant-pop from their 2023 release Rain Before Seven… Ahead of that, don’t miss a Vibe Lounge in the foyer with emerging artist Isla Croll. Finish off on Sunday evening with Orchestra of the Swan as they present a stunning Vivaldi Four Seasons for the 21st century.
Bring a picnic to enjoy before the performances, or take advantage of some amazing food stalls out in the gardens. Make sure you visit the bar, with a range of local beers from Steam Town brewery, as well as Bowman Ales and Mr Whitehead’s Ciders.

Summer Family Day
The whole family will enjoy David Gibb and his amazing Big Band as they take you on a musical journey through jazz, folk, reggae, and rock ‘n’ roll.
Take part in a Big Bug Hunt around the gardens of Highfield Campus with Judith Lock, Principal Teaching Fellow in Ecology & Evolution in the School of Biological Sciences at University of Southampton.
Celebrate local talented young people from our city as they take to the Community Stage with an exciting line up of music and dance performances. Don’t miss Jham!, featuring prominent musicians including a beatboxer, a classical Indian percussionist and a Karnatik vocalist alongside classical Indian dancers. Discover a symphony of insect voices with JUMP, a musical celebration of the insect world from composer Karen Wimhurst. Join musicians from the University of Southampton, puppeteers from Dotted Line Theatre and puppet Pythagoras to explore music conducting.
Make some noise with the Creative Beats workshop, play some rhythm games and fun grooves! And if you’re feeling crafty, you can Invent an Insect with paper artist Nathan Ward.
