Upcoming Sustainability events: Decarbonisation and Ghana

This month, the Sustainability and Resilience Institute (SRI) are holding two meetings to highlight research opportunities across the University.

Projects in Ghana

The first, to be held on Friday 12 July at 9am in B34, Room 3001, will be an informal in-person seminar to highlight University of Southampton activity in Ghana as we continue to create opportunities for further research. In collaboration with the Clinical Informatics Research Unit, the seminar aims to bring together an interdisciplinary audience and is open for all university staff to attend.

Early career researchers from the SRI and wider community will present projects tackling issues on food insecurity, access to public health services, flooding prevention, and geospatial analyses across Ghana’s northern and southern regions. And, after keynotes on a variety of pressing topics, there will be opportunities for open discussion about collaboration, project development and funding with other researchers.

Decarbonisation

The second event is on Friday 19 July at 9:30-11:00 Building 5, Room 2011, when you are invited to join a university-wide network focused on creating a ‘Decarbonised Future’.

Combining interdisciplinary expertise from researchers across our University to identify strengths and build relationships to enact positive environmental change, the network aims to encourage collaboration to reduce the level of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.

If you would like to join this network, please use this form to sign up and register your attendance.

For more information on either event, please contact SRI Collaboration Manager, Jon Lawn ([email protected]).
