Update (22.07.2024 Midday)
Our banking system and the payment systems in our catering outlets are now operating as normal, following the impact on Friday of the global IT outages.
On Friday 19 July, we provided the following information to our community in the original version of this post:
Worldwide IT outage: Campuses operating largely as normal
Our university campuses are largely running as usual today, amidst the global IT outages impacting organisations worldwide.
As part of this we have been informed that our bankers are currently not able to take BACS file transfer payments. However, we have no major payments planned for today and will revisit this on Monday to ensure everything is brought up to date, assuming the problem is rectified.
We are also aware that our catering outlets have been experiencing issues with taking payments. We are working with the third party supplier of the card payment system to find a resolution as quickly as possible and some of our outlets have now returned to normal service.
Our Graduation ceremonies have not been affected.
