I know many of our colleagues and students will be deeply concerned by the violent protests which have taken place in UK towns and cities over recent days.
I am proud that our inclusive community embodies the values and behaviours that unite us, and not divide us. I repeat my pledge that we will ensure that all members of our community feel safe and will take swift action with appropriate authorities if any threats against our staff or students come to light.
Our University community demonstrates support and inclusivity, so please do reach out to colleagues or classmates if you need to talk, or take time with your colleagues and friends who may wish to.
We have several resources that can help support staff and students, including confidential listening and counselling spaces. Staff and PGR students are also welcome to join the REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) network, to access a supportive community.
