Welcome 2024 takes place between Monday 16 September and Friday 4 October, and staff across the University are now invited to sign up to help provide a warm welcome to all of our new students who are starting their journey here at Southampton. Welcome is a great event to be involved in, to play a part in ensuring all of our new students get the introduction to Southampton they deserve and give you the chance to experience something a little different from your day job.
The event will give you the chance to learn some new skills, or practice skills you haven’t used in a while such as problem solving, people management and customer service. You will get to work with people from across the University that you might not usually work with, so it’s a great chance to network and build up your working relationships and contacts.
We are looking for staff to support with;
- Meeting and greeting students
- ID Card distribution
- Queue busting
You will work alongside the Student Hub team for the duration of your shift. Full training will be provided for all roles prior to your first shift.
How do I sign up?
If you’d like to be involved, please have a conversation with your line manager about supporting the event. If you are available, please fill out this form by Friday 30th August to indicate what dates and shifts you can work.
Please then save the dates you indicate you are available for in your diary.
