All staff at Level 5 and above must complete the annual Conflicts of Interest Declaration in MyView by 31 August each year. You are required to do this declaration, even if you don’t have any work-related interests to declare.
If you haven’t done the declaration this year, please make this a priority. It takes less than five minutes to complete.
Instructions on where to locate the declaration form and how to complete it can be found in the MyView User Guide.
Many people think that by adding an interest to their Register of Interests they have done the annual Conflict of Interest Declaration. These are two separate steps. The Conflict of Interest Form is located in a different part of MyView to the Register of Interests.
In addition:
- If you have work-related interests, these must be declared in your Register of Interests. See the website for examples of conflicts of interest.
- If you line manager considers there to be a conflict of interest (or a potential for one) you must discuss and agree a Conflict Management Plan.
- If you have a personal or intimate relationship with someone who works for or with the University you may need to declare this, depending on your professional relationship.
