From 1 October 2024, you will be able to use the Carry Over Holiday Request on the ServiceNow HR Portal to request to carry over remaining holiday entitlement, if exceptional circumstances have prevented you from taking your full entitlement within the holiday year. Requests will be sent to your line manager for approval, before being routed to the HR team to update your new holiday entitlement in MyView.
Only in exceptional circumstances* and with the approval of your line manager can you request to carry over unused holiday to the new year. The maximum is one week equivalent in hours (pro-rata if you are part time).
You will be able to make carry over requests until 17:00 on 31 October 2024. Approved carry over holiday will be visible in 2024-2025 entitlements by 1 January 2025 at the latest.
Please note that if your holiday balance is in deficit at the end of the holiday year, the amount you have overtaken will be deducted from your new holiday entitlement for 2024/25.

*More than one week equivalent in hours can be carried over where the employee has been on maternity/adoption leave or long term sick leave for the majority of the holiday year.
Employees who are currently on maternity or adoption leave at the beginning of the new holiday year will have any remaining holiday balance automatically carried over – they do not need to submit an HR Request for this.
