The SRI launches a monthly Seminar Series and new Centre for Postgraduate Research

The new academic year sees the Sustainability & Resilience Institute (SRI) launching two exciting new programmes – a Seminar Series for the whole university community and a Centre for Postgraduate Research.

The new SRI Seminar Series will be a monthly event to shine a light on the fascinating research work of our academics and postgraduate researchers in this vital area of study and knowledge exchange.

Everyone across the University community is welcome, the first in person session is on Wednesday 9 October (1pm-2.30pm) in Building 100 Room 4011 featuring two inspirational speakers. Dr Michael Head (Senior Research Fellow in Global Health from the Faculty of Medicine), and Emily Cole (INSPIRE DTP PhD student in the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences), sign up here.

Centre for Postgraduate Research

The new SRI Centre for Postgraduate Research will provide funded opportunities for postgraduate researchers to access sustainability leadership courses, interdisciplinary research retreats, mentoring programmes, teaching, assessment and internships.

SRI would like to invite interested colleagues to an in person launch event with a presentation and discussion session on Thursday 17 October (4pm – 5.30pm) in Building 100 Room 4011.  Professor Simon Kemp will outline the programmes available through the Centre, the range of opportunities and benefits for postgraduates from all disciplines, and how to become a Member.  All PhD candidates and PostDoc researchers are welcome.
