Invitation to Southampton@Harwell networking event

Colleagues with established or interested in building relationships with organisations on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, specifically the Harwell Research Complex, are invited to an in-person networking event on 7 November between 12:00 and 14:00 to discuss facilitating interactions with the Research Complex, for example preparatory work associated with creating links to other organisations on the Harwell campus.

A few research groups at the University already use national scientific facilities at Harwell (such as Diamond Light Source, ISIS, Central Laser Facility) and some even have a presence at the Research Complex. The recent EPSRC instrument development award for a lab-scale soft X-ray microscope for biological systems on the Harwell campus (in collaboration with the Rosalind Franklin Institute and the Central Laser Facility), which will involve setting up a laboratory in the Research Complex, may provide an opportunity for Southampton to have a more visible presence at Harwell (Southampton@Harwell).

There are over 200 organisations on the campus working in advanced manufacturing and materials, big data and supercomputing, energy and environment, life science and healthcare, space and satellite applications.

Date: 7 November 2024

Time: 12:00-14:00

Lunch provided

Please confirm your attendance to the event by emailing Toni Hunt [[email protected]] by Friday 1 November 12:00 noon. If you are interested in the outcome of the event but not able to attend, please let the team know.
