Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival is the University of Southampton’s annual celebration of Humanities and the Arts.
The festival returns this November with a brand-new look and an extended programme full of interactive events exploring some of the University of Southampton’s research projects, and how the arts and humanities shape our communities.
Running from Thursday 7 to Saturday 16 November, the programme includes events from venues across Southampton and beyond, including John Hansard Gallery, Turner Sims Southampton, and many more!
Some of the events taking place at this year’s festival include:
- US Election 2024 in Context: “October Surprises” and Election Turning Points | Monday 4 November, 19:00
- BBC singers in concert | Turner Sims | Thursday 7 November, 19:30
- Community Hubs Get Board in the City! | Tuesday 12 November, 18:30
- UK Disability History Month 2024 | Launch | Thursday 14 November, 18:00
- The Many Ways To Be A Mother | Workshop | Friday 15th November, 10:30
The festival also features the popular Arts and Humanities Day, a free family-friendly event packed with an exciting programme of activities, workshops, talks and exhibits.
This year Arts and Humanities Day (formerly Hands-on Humanities Day) takes place on Saturday 9 November at Southampton Cultural Quarter.
This event is in collaboration with the University of Southampton’s branch of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, John Hansard Gallery, MAST Mayflower Studios and Southampton City Art Gallery.
