Explore the world of human experience at this year’s Arts and Humanities Day in the Southampton Cultural Quarter on Saturday 9 November.
Arts and Humanities Day (formerly known as Hands-on Humanities Day) is the University of Southampton’s family-friendly event offering an exciting programme of free interactive activities, workshops, talks, exhibitions, and live performances, suitable for all ages.
From vibrant explorations into Cumbia dance and music, to adventuring through immersive virtual reality experiences, and constructing roman mosaic LEGO, there really is something for everyone to explore.
In addition to a new name and brand-new look the day provides the opportunity to meet researchers, students, community groups and artists in the Southampton Cultural Quarter on Saturday 9 November, 10:30 – 16:30.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover how the arts and humanities enrich and influence our daily lives with over 45 activities taking place between Sir James Matthews Building, John Hansard Gallery, MAST Mayflower Studios and Southampton City Art Gallery.
The Arts and Humanities Day programme runs as part of the annual Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival and has been expanded in collaboration with the Southampton ESRC Festival of Social Science, adding social science-focused activities, exhibitions, and talks to the mix.
Attendance for the day is free, but registration through Eventbrite is required. Booking is required for some of the events.
