Accelerate your Funding Journey with the Winter Intensive 2025

What if you could write better funding bids, more effectively, and increase your chances of success?

The Research Funding Intensive is a four-week development programme for research-engaged staff across all career stages, who want to accelerate their funding application journey.

The Winter Intensive 2025 will run from Monday 22 January to Friday 16 February.

The call for expressions of interest is now open and closes on 6 December 2024. There is also a Research Funding Intensive Information session taking place on Wednesday 20 November. This is your chance to ask questions before registering your expression of interest. Bookable via Staffbook.

Dr Paul Hurley from the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP), in conjunction with the Research Funding Development team in RIS, runs this programme twice a year for research-engaged staff at Level 4 and above. It offers a concentrated period in which to develop a strategic approach to research funding and proposal writing, to work on proposal development, to gain up-to-date insights from colleagues, and to use protected time to write. It is designed to be supportive, flexible and responsive, whatever your career stages and life circumstances.

The aim of the intensives is to provide knowledge, tools and focus to help you develop a quality funding proposal with the best chances of success. To take part, you must be working on or towards a ‘live’ funding proposal. This means you have an expected source of funding and a solid idea or project that you are ready to develop into a proposal, or that you are already developing.

For more information and to submit an expression of interest please visit the Research Funding Intensives SharePoint page. A second Research Funding Intensive will run in summer 2025, for which the call will open in the spring.
