The University previously announced the introduction of a new automated parking system. The system will go live on tomorrow, 20 November, and we are reminding all permit holders to re-apply for a new permit via the APCOA parking portal before that date. FAQs are available on the dedicated SharePoint.
Over 3000 colleagues have applied for a permit.
The Parking team is also currently working through appeals made by those who live within 3 miles of their workplace. The University recognises that some colleagues will have individual circumstances which may require further consideration by the team and in some cases additional documentation will be requested (the information will not be stored or processed by APCOA and this data will be handled in line with the University Data Protection Policy).
A panel has been established to review these cases, which includes a Chair of the Disability Network and one of the Chairs of the Parent and Carers’ Network. Please send all appeals, including supporting documentation, via the APCOA portal and a member of the parking team will review these. If you have not received the outcome of your appeal, you will have received an email from the team who, on receipt of your registration number, can issue a temporary permit.
Parking Charge Notices (PCNs) will be issued from 25 November – with a charge of £50. If you pay within 14 days this will be reduced to £25. If you believe you have received a PCN in error, please follow the instructions on the PCN to appeal.
