The Southampton BioResource Centre is working with the NIHR (National Institute for Health and care Research) BioResource to recruit volunteers to participate in a new research programme focused on advancing our knowledge and understanding of health conditions and their unique impact on UK Black communities.
The Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource is a pioneering research initiative launched by the NIHR BioResource in collaboration with King’s College London and Genomics England. IBHO aims to address the critical gap in research dedicated to the health experiences of Black individuals, contributing to better prognosis and healthcare strategies tailored to their specific needs.
Staff members from Black communities who are aged 16+ as well as those with a confirmed diagnosis of Sickle Cell or Thalassaemia are invited to join the IBHO BioResource as a research volunteer.
