15 January – Starting your AHRC Impact Acceleration Account application – Away Day
If you a researcher (early career, mid, senior or academic staff) eligible to apply to the AHRC IAA then this away day will kick-start your application for impact funding.
16 January – Public Policy Southampton: How to influence policy makers
Dr Helen Goulding will share her experiences of successful researcher – policymaker collaborations and discuss effective influencing techniques.
21 January – Solent Mind: Supportive conversations about mental health in the workplace
Discover a framework for having supportive conversations with colleagues about mental health in the workplace and increase your self-confidence to hold supportive conversations.
Education focused
PAT Training: The Successful Futures Pathway
These regular sessions provide Personal Academic Tutors (PATs) with an introduction to the Successful Futures Pathway and provide the information you need to have meaningful conversations with students.

14 January – Facilitation techniques: How to get students engaging in seminars and classes (in-person)
Learn basic facilitation techniques to get students talking in seminars as well as simple techniques to develop students’ confidence and encourage active learning in seminars.
28 January – Learning and Teaching in HE. A brief introduction
Make a start on developing your education practice and gain support to help you manage your education role.
29 January – Practical, quick-change approaches to EDI in your teaching practice
Gain tips on inclusive education practices and how to enhance your teaching strategies from the start of the semester.
