Semester two—navigating your finances

As we enter semester two, you may be wondering what financial support is available to you and where you can access it. The university offers a range of support for those experiencing financial difficulty, including grants towards necessary technology, funds and bursaries, and advice for coping with the cost of living. Keep reading to explore your options, and visit the Cost of Living site for more information.

Funds and bursaries

The University offers a range of funds and grants to support a variety of needs. These include the Student Support and International Student Support Fund – discretionary support for students who find themselves in unexpected financial hardship, and Undergraduate Bursaries for students who have a low household income.

You can find more information on funds and bursaries, and other financial support, on the University website.

Technology and study support

You can apply for up to £300 to go towards equipment needed for your studies, including a new laptop or set of headphones. You may request one or more items of hardware or software in your application.

Check if you’re eligible for the Technology Grant, and other financial support, on the University website.

Cost of Living advice

The Cost of Living is affecting everyone, with increases in utility bills, food prices and transport costs. As well as the support detailed above, the Cost of Living site lists all the support that the University and Students’ Union offer, including paid opportunities and food and drink offers on campus.
