Your voice matters, and we are here to listen. As part of our ongoing commitment to capture your feedback and improve the University of Southampton experience, from today, Thursday 6 February, each student will have a survey to complete – the National Student Survey (NSS), the Student Experience Survey (SES), and the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) are now open.
National Student Survey (NSS)
The NSS, run across the UK by external organisation Ipsos, is now open to most final year undergraduate students. You can use it to anonymously share your views on your University of Southampton experience as it comes to an end, and feed back on topics including teaching, learning, and academic support, assessment and feedback, resources, and more.
Completing the NSS only takes around 10 minutes – you will receive an email from Ipsos in your University inbox with a link to complete it. As a thank you, you will receive a £4 Campus Kitchen voucher if you show your confirmation email at one of The Student Hubs, as well as a chance to win one of 98 vouchers ranging between £35 and £150.
If you are eligible to take the NSS, you will receive an email with a link. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can share your views now by visiting thestudentsurvey.com.
Student Experience Survey (SES)
The SES is open to non-final year undergraduate and all postgraduate taught students. Designed in collaboration with your Students’ Union, the SES questions will be tailored to your year of study, covering topics that matter most to you.
If you complete the SES you will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win one of 20 £25 vouchers.
Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)
The PRES is a national survey designed specifically for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) to share their thoughts about their research programme. Your feedback will help improve the experience of researchers at our University going forward. The questions span topics such as supervision, learning resources, research culture, and much more.
Head to the Your Voice site to find out more about the student surveys open to you and the topics they cover.
Student voice pop-ups
To make it easier for you to share your thoughts with us, we will have pop-ups across our campuses from Thursday 6 February to Thursday 20 February. If you complete any of the above surveys at one of our pop-ups or show confirmation that you have completed it, you will receive a free Tony’s Chocolonely bar (while stocks last).
