This year’s Southampton Science and Engineering Festival 2025 (SOTSEF) runs from Friday 7 to Sunday 16 March and you can now buy tickets and save the date in your calendars.
SOTSEF is the University of Southampton’s annual award-winning science festival that allows everyone to explore and discover what the world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) has to offer.
The Festival, which takes place during British Science Week, is mostly free for the public to take part in.
This year’s line-up includes:

- Creation (2009) with Dr Neil Gostling | Film screening + Q&A | Tuesday 11 March, 18:00
- Thinking with Drawing: Exploring Maternal Identity | Workshop | Wednesday 12 March, 10:45
- University of Southampton’s Sustainability Strategic Plan | Talk + Q&A | Wednesday 12 March, 17:00
- Myths and legends of the deep ocean with Dr Simon Boxall | Talk + Q&A | Thursday 13 March, 19:00
- The Composting Heap Sharing Bucket: A Chicken Reading Group | Friday 14 March, 18:00
Science and Engineering Day on Saturday 15 March 10:30 – 16:30 is the University’s annual free, family-friendly event, taking place across Highfield Campus and Boldrewood Innovation Campus that concludes Southampton Science and Engineering Festival.
The event is FREE for the public to take part in and is suitable for all ages. Registration through Eventbrite is required, please visit www.sotsef.co.uk
