The Director of the Doctoral College will be a key figure in leading postgraduate research across the University. This strategic role will focus on enhancing the research environment, supporting doctoral researchers, and leading initiatives that promote doctoral education, elevate research standards, and contribute to the University’s growing global reputation.
The post-holder will collaborate closely with senior leadership to shape the future of postgraduate research, fostering a collegial and inclusive research culture.

The Director will report to the Vice-President for Research and Enterprise on postgraduate research matters, and to the Vice-President for Education & Student Experience on postgraduate research quality management and student experience matters.
This role will be 0.5 FTE and sit alongside the appointee’s substantive ERE post at the University.
The post is tenured for five years, with the possibility of a three-year extension, subject to mutual agreement.
