The Brighter Futures Grant (also known as our annual £10k giveaway) is back for 2025! In partnership with Santander Universities, ten University of Southampton students will each receive £1,000 to support their university experience.
Open to all undergraduates and postgraduates, this grant gives you the flexibility to spend it where you most need it, whether you need help with living expenses, study costs, or investing in your professional development. The grant is a £1,000 cash award paid to your chosen bank account so you can choose how to use the money to best support you.
The giveaway closes on Wednesday 15 May 2025. Winners will then be chosen at random, and all applicants will be informed of their outcome on 3 June 2025.
How to enter
- Visit the Brighter Futures Grant webpage and click ‘Get Started’.
- Log in or register for an account on the Santander Open Academy platform
- Select ‘University of Southampton’ in the application form and enter your Student ID number.
- Submit your application —it only takes a few minutes.
