Before you start…
We manage a range of internal communications channels including Staff Matters, Staff Digest and Manager Briefing Sheets.
SUSSED News is the home of our strategic news, including major success stories, updates on strategic activities or significant developments in the University.
If you’re unsure which channel to use for your communication, there’s guidance relating to the whole range of channels which we manage on the Internal Communications SharePoint site.
Please consider if the SUSSED article you’re requesting is aimed at staff, students, or both.

Please submit the information requested below to [email protected] at least seven days before your suggested publication date. See below for editorial policy on events.
If your request is urgent, please flag this up in the subject line of your email to the team.
Your SUSSED News post may also be included in the weekly Staff Digest, a round-up of key information which we email to all staff on Tuesday afternoons.

- Body of text: 250 words maximum (writing guidelines are available).
- Insert hyperlinks related to the text.

- Caption for image: name and position of individual; or what does picture show.
- If you wish to include a quote, this should be 30-40 words in length.
- Contact email address for more information, including author/owner of content: Name(s)/Role(s)/Department
- Links to further information, if available.
- We do publish appointments of level 7 and above members of staff.
- We do publish obituaries and would ask for a close colleague to provide an appropriate draft and to confirm agreement of the family.
- Research studies can also be advertised but they must be open to a large proportion of our community and based on a topic of broad relevance/high interest.
Events:
- We regret we cannot do SUSSED posts for every event that takes place at the University.
- We can add some events to the Digest which goes out every Tuesday.
- Events should include a link to further information/booking details.
- Colleagues are encouraged to add their events to the University events calendar.
Please note that all decisions on publication rest with the editor:
- The editor may amend copy for style.
- Photos of poor quality or low resolution may not be used.
- We do not publish advertisements for businesses, calls for contestants for TV/radio shows, or stories unrelated to the University.
