Many students seek a part-time job whilst studying at University, whether to develop their skills and employability or to support their finances. There are many avenues to explore when looking for a role, which may be why our students are more likely to find a part-time job than students in any other city in the UK.
Places to search for a job
The Students’ Union is opening a new recruitment agency, SURecruit, that will pull together various opportunities from around campus and the city. You can currently register your interest on the website and like the Facebook page to get updates.
You can also search on the University jobs board for part-time jobs, internships and placements.
If you’re on Facebook, then add your University of Southampton email address to be able to join our Jobs and Internships group to keep up to date with the latest opportunities.
With a new academic year, students are once-again invited to apply for a Student Consultancy position. These are challenging roles, working with other students to deliver solutions with local businesses.
Other ways to develop your skills
There are thousands of volunteering roles across the University and the city for you to discover. You can find information about potential places to discover voluntary roles on the Careers and Employability Service website.
If you do want to find a job, but need some advice, guidance or tips to update your CV then visit the Careers website.
