Final push to bring our zebra home

With the public auction date fast approaching (18 October 2016), the BioBlitz team are calling for a final push to raise funds to buy our zebra, ‘Zebraversity’.

"I'd love to live in Valley Gardens!"
“I’d love to live in Valley Gardens!”

Having spent the summer helping to teach members of the Southampton community about biodiversity research, the BioBlitz team are hoping to successfully purchase Zebraversity (who was painted by local artist Smock and Ballpoint) and release her into Valley Gardens.

As this location is open to the public, Zebraversity would continue to help individuals connect and appreciate nature through future public engagement events.

All donations are welcome and will be rewarded on a tier-based system, as below:

  • Pledge £1 or more – you will receive a named shout-out on Facebook and Twitter.
  • Pledge £10 or more – you will receive a postcard of Zebraversity in her new home, in time for Christmas!
  • Pledge £15 or more – your name will be included on Zebraversity’s plinth.
  • Pledge £20 or more – you can name one of the animals on the sculpture. Please note this is first come, first served, and the hedgehog has already been named in a previous competition (he’s called Rustle).
  • Pledge £25 or more – you will receive an invitation to Zebraversity’s release into Valley Gardens.
