From today (Monday 12 June), Pure – the University’s research information system – will be able to automatically update researchers’ ORCiD profiles on orcid.org
An ORCiD is an unique researcher ID which is fast becoming the international standard used to disambiguate authors. ORCiDs sit behind a researcher’s name in an institutional repository, a funder’s database, publisher’s website or even on a Twitter account, to pull together all of a researcher’s outputs and involvements. Increasingly publishers and funders are requiring researchers to have ORCiDs.
For those who’ve already entered their ORCiD into Pure and want updates to be sent automatically, you’ll need to edit your Pure profile to consent to this feature. Please see the Pure Manual: ‘Pure for Researchers section 13, Your ORCID ID’ for further guidance on how to do this.
If you’ve not already added your ORCiD to Pure, simply click on ‘edit my profile’ on your Pure profile and add or create your ORCiD. Updates to your ORCiD profile will happen automatically.
If you’ve not already added your ORCiD to Pure but would prefer not to automatically update your ORCiD profile, please contact your Faculty pure team for further help.
