Getting the most out of your degree goes beyond the lecture theatre; it’s about new, hands-on experiences too. A Year in Employment Placement is a great way to develop your professional skills and workplace experience in an industry of your choice.
BSc Marine Biology with a Year in Employment student Karl Verspyk completed his Year in Employment with British Airways
Karl Verspyk, a BSc Marine Biology with a Year in Employment student, found his placement with British Airways after speaking to them at one of the University’s Careers Fairs. Karl said:
“My placement was everything I had expected and more! Over my 11 months I was involved in 10 projects and was asked to make zero cups of tea. I would recommend a Year in Employment Placement to anyone. I have gained so much experience in dealing with professionals and working in an international business. I now feel more confident in daily life and in solving any problems that come my way. More importantly, I received an offer for a place on the British Airways Future Leader Graduate Scheme, allowing me to concentrate on my final year without the stress of planning what to do after graduation.”
There are lots of resources available through our Year in Employment Student Guide, including information about where to begin your placement search and course eligibility. You can also register your interest to receive regular updates about new roles being offered.
