On 13 April, the Government announced that students who are not already attending in-person teaching will not be able to return to on-campus teaching until 17 May at the earliest.
As a result the previous guidance remains in place and on that basis teaching on programmes that do not have a practical element will continue to be online only, with no in-person, on-campus teaching.
We will continue to operate the campus as we had planned, with many of our services including libraries, catering, study spaces and sports facilities opening from 12 April in line with national guidance for other sectors.
We will continue to provide updates on return to campus as we receive further guidance.
For colleagues
The continuing guidance for colleagues is that you should continue to work from home where possible, some staff will be required to work on site to ensure the delivery of University operations and services. Please continue to liaise with your line manager and ensure that you are following our comprehensive guidance for ensuring a safe working environment on our campuses.
For students
We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and will inform you via email as soon as there are further updates. We will also be updating the FAQs over the next week with further details as they become available.
We will be extending our University accommodation refund policy until such time as students are able to return to in-person, on-campus teaching. We will contact residents of our accommodation with further details in the week commencing 19 April.
