We hope you had a great time during Welcome Week and are ready to start your course for the new academic year. Below you can find a compilation of links and resources to help you now teaching has started.
Get ready for teaching
Remember, you can access your permanent timetable via the Timetable website and MySouthampton app. If you are not sure where some of the teaching rooms are, there are campus maps available both on the MySouthampton app and Maps website.
If you have any teaching scheduled at the Sir James Matthews Building located in the Southampton City Centre, you will have received an email with further details about the building and the facilities available.
There are four libraries across campuses with plenty of resources and study spots you can access. These are Hartley Library, Health Services Library, National Oceanographic Library, and Winchester School of Art Library. To find out everything from opening times to using the library search, visit the Library website.
There are many other study spaces you can use if you would like a change of scenery, including The Bridge café and Plant Pot at SUSU, Building 100 on Highfield Campus, and Avenue Campus.
Fee payment information
The first tuition fees installment for courses starting September 2022 is due today, Monday 3 October, with accommodation fees due on Monday 10 October. Access the Knowledge Base for more information about how to pay your fees.
Places to eat on campus
Our campuses offer a variety of food outlets where you can grab a bite or hang out in between lectures. On Highfield Campus, you can find sandwiches, snacks, and hot meals from places such as The Arlott, The Terrace Restaurant, and La Piazza, or from the SUSU-run venues — The Bridge, The Plant Pot, or The Shop.
Avenue Campus, Winchester School of Art, National Oceanography Centre, and the Sir James Matthews Building have their own cafés with a selection of hot and cold food.

Find the right support
The Academic Skills Service can help you hone a variety of study skills such as writing and statistics. The specialist team can also offer tailored support for your work via their bookable appointments.
The Library team can help you navigate the resources available to you and understand the processes of citing and referencing that may differ from anything you have done before. You can book an appointment with them on the Library website.
Your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) is an academic in your field of study appointed to support you throughout your student journey with any academic matters that may arise. If you aren’t sure who your PAT is, you can find out via Banner Self-Service.
The Student Hub is your first point of contact for any questions and concerns. No issue is too big or small – they will help make sure you receive the advice and information you need, guiding you to specialist services where required. hey can be contacted via online chat, email, telephone at 023 8059 9599, or in-person on Highfield Campus, at the Winchester School of Art, and at the Sir James Matthews Building.
