As the academic year gets underway the University is welcoming the 2023 cohort of Anniversary Fellows. The eight exceptional early career researchers were selected from over 750 applicants and form the second cohort on the flagship Anniversary Fellowship Scheme launched in 2022 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the University’s Royal Charter.
The programme aims to attract and develop the highest-calibre individuals who have the potential and ambition to become the research leaders of the future. Their research interests span from skeletal regeneration, West African medicinal plants, and printed electronics to security in migration enforcement. The 2023 Anniversary Fellows are:
Dongyang Wang (Zepler Institute)
Jessica Pereira (Electronics & Computer Science)
Yu-Shan Tseng (Geography)
Alix Chadwell (Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation)
Yanghee Kim (Human Development and Health)
Melissa Selley Akosua Baba (Business School)
Maya Goodfellow (Economic, Social & Political Sciences)
Nathan Bossoh (History)
The new Anniversary Fellows will benefit from three-years’ independent research funding, additional funding for research expenses and access to mentoring, career development and networking.
The 2023 cohort join fourteen Anniversary Fellows from the 2022 cohort who are already making significant contributions to research across the University.
“We are delighted to welcome the new intake of Anniversary Fellows,” commented Mylène Ployaert, Director Research Strategy and Funding in Research and Innovation Services (RIS). “The scheme recognises the value and contribution of our early career researchers in delivering our ambitious, high-quality research strategy. We look forward to seeing where their fellowships will take them.”
