Green Week starts today, Monday 22 April

Today is the start of the University’s Green Week, and we have a packed agenda of sustainability-related activities and talks for staff and students.

What’s on today?

Green Stories project: meet the author Denise Baden – 12.00 – 14.00
Location: The Concourse, Building 42

Come and talk to Professor Denise Baden, Professor of Sustainable Business at the Southampton Business School, about her Green Stories project and other publications. She will have books for sale at discount prices and be available to sign copies and answer questions. The Green Stories Project offers cut-price books that entertain and educate. These include the eco-themed rom-com ‘Habitat Man’, set in Southampton, shortlisted for a Radio 4 sitcom and bestseller at October Books for two years running, and ‘No More Fairy Tales: Stories to Save the Planet’: a collection of 24 short stories.

Change one Thing! 2-4pm (100/5013) no pre-booking but it will be on a first come, first served basis

An in-person workshop, facilitated by Karen Clinkard, Principal Teaching Fellow in Marketing, Southampton Business School.

In this session find out how you can make simple lifestyle swaps to make a positive impact. A new initiative, the ‘Green Student’ project needs your ideas and support to spread the word and encourage sustainable living. Hosted by a member of the Business School staff, alongside student reps, this is a safe space for discussion and making plans for action.

Quiz & Curry 19:00 – 23:00, The Bridge – no pre-booking

Join us in The Bridge for Quiz & Curry night. Including an Earth Day-themed round with a special prize.
