Invitation to Nature-based Solutions and Nature Recovery Workshop

Join the Sustainability and Resilience Institute (SRI) on 15 January for an interactive workshop at Future Towns Innovation Hub in Chilworth. Open to researchers, academics and industry professionals, the event will explore the critical role of nature-based solutions in achieving the UK’s net-zero emissions targets, and how academia and industry can make a real impact.

Introducing the event, Dr Felix Eigenbrod (School of Environmental Sciences) and postgraduate researcher Emily Cole will outline the current barriers facing government and land managers. Specifically, the increasing disconnect between government policy, land managers and practitioners to implement effective nature-based solutions has resulted in declining levels of biodiversity, which is a key contributor to carbon emission reduction.

Join the conversation with networking sessions and in-depth group discussions, where you’ll identify training needs and establish working relationships between researchers from different disciplines to bridge knowledge gaps and address the UK’s most pressing net-zero challenges with innovative research.

Plus, hear from Jon Lawn, Collaboration Manager at the SRI, to learn more about applying to receive seed funding, and how the SRI aims to establish key partnerships with industry stakeholders to support funding for projects that you could get involved in.

This hybrid event will be held in person and remotely, from 10:30 to 15:30. To book your tickets, please complete this Microsoft Form.
