LGBT+ History Month is marked every February across the country to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions of LGBT+ people. This year’s theme is “Activism and Social Change”. Throughout history LGBT+ people have been activists and helped shape and create social change, advancing society for everyone.

• Southampton Stonewall Lecture 2025: The Shape of Sex: A History of Nonbinary Gender Before Modernity
Thursday 27 February from 18:00-20:15, Avenue Campus
Leah DeVun’s lecture examines how premodern European ideas (200–1400 C.E.) about nonbinary sex and gender shaped notions of humanity, offering insights into modern debates on identity.
