24/7 wellbeing support
Our dedicated wellbeing services are accessible via The Student Hub and are here for you 24/7, 365 days a year. The team can provide a safe space to talk things through, discuss strategies around how to cope with stressors and manage your wellbeing, and guide you towards further support if needed. You can also come and see the team in person, 24/7 at The Student Hub in B37.
If a friend is struggling
There may be times when you are concerned about another student who appears to be struggling in some way, whether there is a housemate whose behaviour is worrying you, someone on your course who seems upset, or a friend/ fellow student who is having difficulties. The wellbeing service via The Student Hub can help you to manage these situations.
To discover the range of available support, visit the Student Wellbeing site.
Staying safe
The Student Safety site, produced in collaboration with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, hosts official, reliable information about how to keep safe from various issues that may affect you during your time at university.
From safe nights out to scam and fraud awareness, get advice and find support on the Student Safety site.
If you have anything to report such as acts of harassment, discrimination or hate, you can report something anonymously or report something and get support from an advisor via the Report and Support website.
Educate yourself about consent
A reminder that it’s essential for every student to complete our mandatory Consent Matters training course on Blackboard to understand issues surrounding sexual consent and healthy relationships so that we can work together to keep our community safe: 24-25-Consent Matters (soton.ac.uk)
It will take about fifteen minutes, and you’ll have the chance to win up to £100 in IKEA vouchers once complete, unless you choose to opt-out.
