Mental Health Awareness Week: 10-16 May 2021

Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place from 10-16 May. This year, we are using the week to continue to explore the Five Ways to Wellbeing. These are five evidence-based ways to contribute to positive wellbeing, which are recommended by the NHS. Watch Mind’s video about how you can use the Five Ways to Wellbeing as a student.

The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of the services and support available at the University and across the city.

Follow the Student Communications Facebook page and join the Student Life team for a Q&A takeover. An opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about student support, mental health and wellbeing.

Join Rocio from Southampton Voluntary Services to find out about the benefits of volunteering, and how you can get involved.

Did you know that as a University of Southampton student, you have free access to Togetherall? Find out more about the online wellbeing platform and the courses and resources you can access.

Mindfulness, one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, can help us to manage stress and can improve concentration and focus. Join us to practise mindfulness in a small group setting – all levels of experience are welcome.

Join Mayfield Nurseries to discuss the benefits that nature has on our wellbeing, and how you can get involved as a student.

Student Life will also be visiting different campuses and Halls throughout the week to chat to you about wellbeing. Click here to find out which locations they will be attending.

If you’re worried or are struggling with something, it can help to talk to someone about what you are going through. If you’re a student, you can find out who you can talk to if you need some support with your mental health and wellbeing.
