Dr Paul Duckmanton is Inorganic Chemistry Teaching Fellow within Chemistry at the University of Southampton.
Paul Duckmanton, originally from Mansfield, near Nottingham, graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MChem (Hons) degree in 2002, before moving to the University of Nottingham to complete a PhD in the use of anion binding in palladium and rhodium phosphine chemistry under the supervision of Dr Jason Love.
Following this, Paul moved back to the cold, dark North to take up a post supervising the Inorganic Teaching Laboratories at the University of Strathclyde. This marked a time of both academic research and teaching. At this point, he chose to follow a career in academic education, and moved on to an educational research post-doctoral position at the University of Oxford, investigating university laboratory teaching preceded his employment as an Inorganic Teaching Fellow at Southampton.
