Vision Science

a human stem cell derived retinal organoid stained with antibodies for RECOVERIN (red, =photoreceptors) and AP2 (green, = amacrine cells). The lamination of the tissue and position of the cells is similar to a human retina.

Vision Science works with other research institutions to increase the potential of a cure, or improve treatment, for age-related macular degeneration and other blinding eye diseases.

Part of Medicine

The Vision Science research group is interested in understanding the fundamental cause of blinding eye diseases and then translating these insights into treatments for patients.

The best health care happens in research-active hospitals. My goal is that our research will improve outcomes for sight-threatening eye diseases.
