This module provides advanced training in the use of qualitative research methods in the Social Sciences, and particularly in the field of Gerontology. It builds on the introductory module Qualitative Methods 1. Indicative topics include ethnographic methods and discourse analysis.
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
Advanced topics in the study of qualitative research methods. Indicative content may include data collection methods such as ethnography or focus group discussions, and analysis types such as discourse analysis or case study analysis. Advanced skills in NVivo software will be taught.
Delivery will be hybrid. Pre-recorded lectures and in-person tutorials. Delivery starts from Week 4 of Semester 2.
