Syllabus
This module provides you with a foundation in mathematics and statistics which will allow you a smooth transition to an undergraduate module containing quantitative material.
The subjects covered in mathematics are: numbers, fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, indices, equations, sequences and series, functions, graph of functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, elementary logic. The subjects covered in statistics are: tables and charts, introduction to statistics and probability.

Relationship between the teaching, learning and assessment methods and the planned learning outcomes:-
Your knowledge and understanding of mathematics and statistics will improve through participation in classes. Fortnightly tests will insure a regular work pattern and allow you to monitor your progress. The final exam will then evaluate your progress through the module.
